What is Spreadsheet?

A sheet that is used to record, calculate and analyze and compare financial and numeric data is known as a spreadsheet. It is a combination of horizontal vectors (rows) and vertical vectors (columns). Each value in a spreadsheet can either be independent.

Spreadsheet software

A computer program that allows users to perform numeric and financial activities through a computerized version of the spreadsheet.  It is capable of storing, organizing, and analyzing data in a tabular form. This applications act as digital simulations of paper accounting worksheets. It may include various worksheets in a single workbook that data represent in text, numeric or graphic form. Spreadsheet software is originally developed to help numerous accounting tasks, bookkeeping tasks…etc.

• Microsoft Excel - Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet software developed by Microsoft for work with Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, Google Android, and Apple iOS. It is capable of performing simple to advance calculations and features graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.

• Google Sheets - Google Sheets is one of the popular spreadsheet programs included as part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors suite offered by Google. The service also includes Google Forms, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Drawings, Google Sites, and Google Keep. Google Sheets is available as a desktop application on Google's Chrome OS and as a web application, mobile app for iOS, Android, Windows, BlackBerry. This app is also compatible with Microsoft Excel file formats. The app allows users to develop and modify/edit files online while collaborating with other users in real-time.

• LibreOffice Calc - LibreOffice Calc is the spreadsheet package of the LibreOffice software package. After leaving OpenOffice.org in 2010, LibreOffice Calc goes through a massive re-work of external reference handling to fix any defects in formula calculations involving external references, and to boost data caching performance, especially when referencing large data ranges. As same as Microsoft Office Excel, Calc now supports 1 million rows in a spreadsheet with macro references to each cell. Calc is capable of opening and saving most spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel file format and saving spreadsheets as PDF files. Calc is available for a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD.
